Nine new dungeons
Most are aimed at characters under 60 — leveling is meant to matter as much as endgame.

| City of Dalaran | ~20–35 | Alterac / Hillsbrad |
| Excavation Site | 24–29 | Above Whelgar's Excavation, Wetlands |
| Drowned City | 35–40 | Off-coast ruins |
| Krol'dok Stronghold | 35–40 | Riverglades |
| Alcaz Island Prison | 48–53 | Dustwallow Marsh |
| Blackmaw Hold | 55–60 | Furbolg territory |
| Shaper's Terrace | 58–60 | Un'Goro Crater |

Raids (open Dec 9)

- Barrow Deeps (10): a max-level challenge in a night elf prison facility with multiple entrances.
- Hyjal Summit (20): someone — or something — is draining a powerful alliance atop Hyjal. A legendary reward is tied to it.
- Onyxia's Lair (40): returns as the 40-player raid.
Blizzard has not said anything about difficulty tiers yet.
PvP
Darkspear Islands is a new 15v15 battleground off the Kalimdor coast that mixes strategic control points with Arathi Basin-style flag captures and defense. All the classic battleground maps are retained.

Loot changes (Deep Dive panel, Sept 13)
Every boss loot table was redone, dungeon drops are now at least rare quality, quest rewards and world-drop epics were updated, and trinkets are more situational. Bind-on-pickup dungeon drops also unlock their transmog appearance for the whole eligible group (raids excluded).
