Datamined: everything the beta client says about Forever

Updated 2026-09-18

The beta client installs 30 GB of Blizzard's own data, and most of it is readable without playing a minute. This guide is what we found in build 1.60.1.69893 — the executable itself and its database tables — and what it means. Everything here is beta data and can change; nothing is announced unless we say so. Names are the client's English strings.

The method, briefly: the Forever client is built on the same engine as retail, on top of a Classic Era table set. Comparing its text against the Classic Era, TBC Anniversary and retail clients leaves only what is Forever's own; comparing its tables row by row against Classic Era 1.15.9 does the same for the data. (Half the client is Season of Discovery leftovers — a second copy of every Naxxramas set, for instance — so that comparison matters.)

Unannounced content

The announced Darkspear Islands battleground reads "Off the coast of Kalimdor is the ceremonial islands of the Darkspear tribe"; its two factions are the Darkspear Raiders and the Theramore Expeditionary Force, and it gets its own Call to Arms weekend alongside Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch.

The new zones, place by place

Every zone map now lists its subzones, flight points and reputations, in your language, read from the client — open Zephras Isle, Riverglades, Mount Hyjal or Shen'dralas. The short version:

Dungeons and raids

Blizzard's own dungeon pages on this site now show each instance's level and boss list where the client has them: City of Dalaran (nine encounters, from the Arcane Anomaly to the Mana Wraith), Ruins of Lordaeron (seven, ending with Viktor the Vile and Bjork), Excavation Site: Wetlands (four) and The Hall of Thanes (four, level 13 — the Alliance counterpart to Ragefire Chasm, which the achievements treat as one and the same).

The raids have no encounter table yet, but their achievements list every boss:

The in-game names of the other new dungeons are The Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and The Shaper's Terrace; the dungeon achievements sort them into three tiers (Novice, Experienced, Master Spelunker) together with the classic dungeons.

Legacy: the exact 65 points

Blizzard said you can earn up to 65 Legacy points and spend 16 per character. The client has the list, one point each, every one an achievement whose reward text reads "Earn 1 Legacy Point.":

The whole list exists twice, once per "super-district set" — that is Hardcore's own pool. The Legacy reward track ("Renown – Legacy Rank") goes to 90. Two hidden counters track your recent class and Legacy talent resets, which is what a respec cost that climbs with recent resets looks like.

Talent points are still one per level to 51; the client also carries sources for levels 5–9, which is the Legacy perk that hands you your first point earlier.

PvP

A Rank Points currency, "gained by completing tasks given in Gadgetzan or participating in battlegrounds", drives the honor rank, which is stored as a 14-step renown. The Field of Honor is a weekly "Season Journey" with achievements at weeks 4, 7 and 10. Every rank has its title back (Private to Grand Marshal, Scout to High Warlord), and rank 14 gets "Premier" weapons at item level 65 — Premier High Warlord's Blade, Cleaver, Recurve, Tome of Mending, Right and Left Claw, a Premier Grand Marshal's Longsword — while every old rank set gained six named "Premier" pieces. Two "Training Grounds" flags exist for a practice battleground and arena.

The engine, addons and the things it changes

Forever runs on the modern engine with Classic mechanics put back: defense skill, resistances, spell ranks, weapon skills, hunter pet feeding and training points, temporary weapon enchants. Its codename inside the client is Camelot. Consequences worth knowing:

Camps, professions, collectables

All of them, with the item that teaches each, are on the new Collections page.

What this is not

The client holds no quest text, no NPC levels and no loot tables — those are server-side. What it does hold changes with every build; we re-read the tables on each one, and this guide's date is the build it describes.
