← Professions in WoW: Forever
How professions work
Two primary, three secondary, a 300 cap, Legacy challenges and supply crates — what changes from Classic.
- Two primary professions per character and three secondary skills (Cooking, First Aid, Fishing), with a 300 skill cap — the Legacy perk text itself spells this out.
- Camping is a new outdoor tradeskill system: you build a campfire, other players contribute through their own professions, and everyone at the site shares the buffs.
- Levelling tradeskills is one of the Legacy challenge categories, so every profession you max on any character earns account-wide perks.
- Turning in supply crates to the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) or Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde) rewards Merchant's Favor — a new profession currency seen in the demo.
- The profession window was rebuilt in the modern style, without the clutter of twelve expansions.
- 962 new recipes across all professions in the beta client (the Deep Dive said over 600); almost every crafted food now gives a stat boost.
- A basic campfire holds three objects, one per player (a blacksmith's sharpening wheel raises Strength, a tailor's banner adds a buff…); the first ones are learned at 20 skill.

Client
Supply crates & Merchant's Favor
Merchant's Favor is a currency in the beta client — “an interim currency among high-traffic merchant organizations”, traded by the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) and Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde). Supply-crate turn-ins pay it out, and a Legacy perk gives a 5% chance at double.
- The Authority's outpost is at Three Corners in Redridge Mountains: one quartermaster per crafting profession, each selling that profession's recipes for Favor plus a Certification at 1,000.
- The same outpost sells the Authority's tabard (200), an Advertising License Application (1,200), a Packmule Treat pet (1,500) and the Pack Kodo mount (6,000, level 60).
- In the client, 45 vendor prices spend Merchant's Favor — the Horde side and what goes into a crate are not recorded yet.
